Abstract: I intend to talk about the inhomogeneous Cauchy-Riemann Equations, the fundamental partial differential equations in complex analysis. The $\partial$-bar problem is a very powerful tool to convert smooth data into a holomorphic one. After a brief discussion about solving the $\partial$-bar problem, I shall prove a beautiful theorem by Hartogs by solving the appropriate $\partial$-bar equation and demonstrate the power of this technique.
