Abstract: We introduce the notion of unlikely intersections and present a result of Baker and DeMarco in complex dynamics. The focus will be on the tools that Baker and DeMarco utilized to obtain their result, which are particularly useful in arithmetic dynamics. Some of these tools we will look at are potential theory, nonarchimedean analysis, and complex dynamics. We will conclude with an outline of the proof of their result.
