Abstract: In this talk, we continue our survey of algebraic methods to study singularities of algebraic varieties, focusing on the positive characteristic case. In particular, I will discuss how the additional structure provided by the Frobenius homomorphism can be exploited to classify regular rings and various classes of $F$-singularities. The talk will be of expository nature and targeted to graduate students.
