Abstract: Counting periodic orbits has fascinated mathematicians for decades. In various cases of interest, like the geodesic flow of a (co-)compact hyperbolic surface, periodic orbits satisfy a geometric version of the prime number theorem. This talk concerns the related case of complex rational maps.
