Abstract: A famous result in Representation Theory is Schur’s Lemma, which gives a classification
the endomorphisms of an irreducible smooth representation of a group G. This talk will follow Chapter 3 of Fiona Murnaghan’s notes, building the foundational material we need to, as well as showing some examples and properties of different representations of G.
