Abstract: Cameron Gordon has conjectured that the figure-eight knot exterior is the unique hyperbolic knot exterior with 10 exceptional Dehn fillings. I will report on joint work with Dave Gabai, Rob Meyerhoff, Nate Thurston, and Andrew Yarmola reducing the conjecture to computations that are long but feasible with current hardware. This is work in progress near completion.
