Abstract: This talk will be mostly expository. I will illustrate applications of the linear algebra method in combinatorics and metric geometry by various examples, and finish with Zauner's conjecture on the maximal number of equiangular lines. The talk will be understandable to anyone with a knowledge of basic linear algebra.
