This is an announcement for the paper "Parallelogram norm" by Madjid Mirzavaziri and Mohammad Sal Moslehian.
Abstract: Replacing the triangle inequality by |x+y|^2\leq 2(|x|^2 + |y|^2) in the definition of norm we obtain the notion of parallelogram norm. We establish that every parallelogram norm is a norm in the usual sense.
