[Banach] Joram lindenstrauss

Joram Lindenstrauss died today after a long illness. His influence on Banach space theory has been enormous. Personally, I benefited from his visits to Ohio State while I was a graduate student and early on learned much from his books written with Lior Tzafriri. Dale Alspach
