Dear Math coordinators,
I write, sadly, to announce the cancellation of OSU's 2021 Math Day,
which had been scheduled for October 5. Given the continuing progress
of the pandemic, we cannot justify the risk of bringing students to
our campus. We will try again next fall, when I hope to see many of
your students, safely, in Stillwater.
In the meantime, if there is sufficient interest, we might try
serializing this year's competition. We would send you five problems
every six weeks or so, with the idea that you could administer them to
interested students during lunch or at some other convenient time.
Then we would collate results and announce winners late in the spring
semester. If this sounds like something you'd like to do, please
write to us at hsc(a)math.okstate.edu.
