Putnam Exam Review

Hi all, The Putnam Exam is an international math test that takes place once a year and is intended to be very difficult. If you are interested in the test or possibly reviewing to take the test the Mathematics Graduate Students are holding a review session that will go over "tricks of the trade", tips, and writing style for the test on Wednesdays from 4-5pm in MSCS 514. Graduate Studies Day

To Mathematics and Mathematics Education majors, This is an announcement for a special event that will be held only once this year. Next week, on Tuesday (the 20th), from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in HES 134, there will be an "Introduction to Graduate Studies in Mathematics". This event is designed for you; the purpose is to introduce you to graduate studies in mathematics with a series of presentations by members of the Mathematics Graduate Student Society in various mathematical topics, including the major subject areas of pure and applied mathematics (algebra, analysis, topology, number theory, representation theory, logic, and differential equations), as well as mathematics education. Food and refreshments will be provided. Please mark your calendar for this; this event will happen only once this year.
