Students, Friday, Nov. 5th, from 4:00-5:00 PM, the Math Dept welcomes Professor Mara Alagic of Wichita State University who will speak in MSCS 101 on Mathematics and the Arts: Bridges Reflections. This talk, suitable for a general audience, will take us through a gallery of bridges between mathematics and the arts based on 12 years of Bridges conferences, the speaker's experience as an editor of the Journal of Mathematics and the Arts, and her own contributions. Hey y'all! I hope you haven't made plans for Tuesday, October 26th at 5pm because we are having our second scheduled meeting! This meeting will be on the subject of Origami. Dr. Mantini will be giving a presentation about the symmetric colorings of Origami and have a hands on demonstration! Come and join! As always, pizza will be served! The club meets in MSCS 101 at 5pm. Hope to see you there! Mark your calendars for November 12th too because we will be having another movie night featuring IQ, a movie about Albert Einstein being cupid! I have heard good things about it. Math Club Movie Night

Hey!! Mark your calendars because Math Club is sponsoring a movie night on October 8th at 7:30pm. We are showing *Good Will Hunting* a movie about a janitor working at MIT that is a mathematical genius! It was nominated for many academy awards and features Matt Damon, Robin Williams, Ben Afleck, and many more. The running time is about 2 hours. Come out and join out first great movie night of the semester with friends! - Also, If you haven't already joined the facebook group here is a link to join. Hi!! My name is Tyler Eckert and I am the Math Club President, crazy I know! What are you doing Thursday night at 7pm??! Come to the math club meeting!! We are going to be playing a fun math game and talking about membership. Guess what? It's only 5 dollars to join for the entire year! We are going to have pizza and pop! Yay! Calculator Return Date

Hi Everyone, This is a reminder that if you checked out a Calculator from the Math. Dept. for the Summer 2010 Semester it must be returned by 12:00 NOON Monday, August 02^nd If returned after 12:00 NOON Monday, August 2^nd , late fees will be applied to your Bursar account depending on day calculator is returned to 401 Math Sciences. Starting on Thursday, August, 5^th , calculator will not be returnable and your Bursar account will be billed FULL PRICE of the calculator and you will own the calculator. Hello Everyone! My name is Lauren and I am the President of Math Club. We are having our final meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) the 20th at 6:00 PM in MSCS 203. We will be welcoming our new members (only $5 to join!) and honoring our graduating seniors. We will also be electing next years officers. Anyone is welcome to run for a position. We are looking for a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. This is a great thing to put on your resume and Math Club is a lot of fun. All graduating seniors will receive a free t-shirt at the meeting (even if you aren't a member). Also, there will be cake for everyone so come and enjoy! Actuarial event

The OSU Actuarial Club will hold its inaugural event on March 23, 2:30-4:00, in MSCS 317. Representatives of American Fidelity will be there to discuss actuarial careers. All are welcome, but the people from American Fidelity want some idea of how many will be attending. We are having an information session tomorrow, Wednesday, April 7, at 6:00 p.m. in CLB 417-418; please feel free to stop by to meet us and to learn more about the MLRC and the application process.
