To mathematics education majors:

I apologize if you are getting this message for the second time. We want to be sure everyone is notified.

The Mathematics Department has scholarships for students at all levels whose first or second major is mathematics. If you have already declared mathematics as a second major, then you are eligible for our scholarships. If you have not, then you will be eligible as soon as you complete the attached major declaration form and return it to MSCS 401. You should be aware that when you complete the requirements for a SCED degree with the mathematics option, you will have completed all requirements for a second major in mathematics. You need only complete the attached form to have the second degree noted on your final transcript.

The scholarships require a graduation/retention GPA of 3.25 and a mathematics GPA of 3.5. For consideration you need to complete the attached application and return it with an unofficial transcript to MSCS 401 by March 1, 2009. Successful applicants will be notified in April.
