Hello math majors,


The Oklahoma State Chapter of the Association for Women in Mathematics wanted to let you know about two events coming up in the next few weeks. 

First, we will be holding our first meeting of the 2023 calendar year next Wednesday February 15 at 3:30pm in room MSCS 115. The first part of the meeting will be a meet and greet with snacks and games, followed at 4pm by our elections for the 2023 cohort of officers for the 2023 calendar year. 

There are four officer positions up for election:
  1. President - the chief executive officer of the chapter
  2. Vice-president - who fills in for the president and helps lead the chapter.
  3. Secretary - who in charge of recruiting and promotion
  4. Treasurer - who is responsible for the chapter's finances. 
The following week, on Wednesday February 22 at 1:30pm, we will have a lunch and panel discussion with the spring 2023 Distinguished Women in Mathematics Colloquium speaker, Jennifer Hom, Georgia Insitute of Technology also at 3:30pm in room MSCS 445. If you are interested in joining us for that please respond to this email. 

We hope to see you at one or both events!

While the OSU - AWM is an organization that promotes gender minorities in mathematics, everyone is welcome to join our events.
