Hello everyone,
This week we have Jennifer Hom (Georgia Institute of Technology) visiting the department as part of the Distinguished Women in Mathematics Colloquium Series.
There will be a lunch and panel discussion at 12:30 on Wednesday in MSCS 523. Please RSVP by tomorrow at 1pm, if you are interested in coming. Also, please let me know if you have any dietary preferences or restrictions as part of the RSVP.
On Thursday at 4pm, Prof. Hom will be giving a seminar talk in MSCS 514: "PL-surfaces in homology 4-balls" (abstract: https://www.mathdept.okstate.edu/announce/pdf/1437.pdf)
And on Friday, she will be giving a colloquium talk in MSCS 101: "Unknotting number and sattelittes" (abstract: https://www.mathdept.okstate.edu/announce/pdf/1406.pdf) with refreshments to follow.
