Math and math ed majors,
OSU is sponsoring a competition for all student artist on the theme of "Science", soliciting works that embody the role of artists in communicating the meaning of math and science to the general public.
If any of you are artists and have created such works, please read the attached application form. The form includes a phone number for more information.
Works are in any size and most any medium. Students may submit up to three works, framed and suitable for installation. THe submission should be accompanied by two copies of the application form, attached, and by a statement of 100 words or less on how the work submitted relates to the theme.
Due date is next Friday, Jan. 28th, at noon in 106 Bartlett Center.
Cash prizes of $2000 for two winners and $500 for four honorable mentions will be awarded!
I hope some math students with hidden artistic talent will create works to submit. Let me know if you do -- I'll look out for them in viewing the exhibit during Research Week in February.
Good luck!
