Hi everyone.
Bruce Crauder has decided to retire from OSU. His retirement will be effective in January 2023, so Fall 2022 will be his last semester as an active member of the faculty.
Bruce's contributions to mathematics and to the University have been many and varied. His long service as Associate Dean for Instruction and Personnel helped to keep the College on track during some difficult times, and he was twice Interim Dean. He served as Interim Director of the OSU Museum of Art for three years while the Postal Plaza renovation was underway and was instrumental in guiding that project to success. He and his coauthors have written four textbooks in support of mathematics curriculum reform efforts, and those books have been influential and widely adopted. Of course, Bruce also contributed through research in algebraic geometry, through his teaching, and in many other ways as well.
Please join me in thanking Bruce and in wishing him the best for his last semester at OSU and beyond.
Anthony
