Dear Colleagues,
I'm writing on behalf of the Head Search Committee (Leticia Barchini,
Paul Fili, Anthony Kable, Nicholas Materer (chair), Melissa Mills, Alan
Noell). Let me remind you that the deadline for early voting with regard
to the list of finalists is 3:00 tomorrow afternoon, with the meeting
scheduled for 3:30 in MSCS 514. If enough ballots are obtained
beforehand, at the meeting the committee will report the results and
answer questions about the search.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Colleagues,
The Head Search Committee has received one application for Head of the
Department of Mathematics. We recommend approval of the following list
of finalists:
*Chris Francisco
The application and vita submitted by Chris are attached to this email.
The College's policy document for the Head search requires that a
majority of the tenured and tenure-track faculty approve the list of
finalists. We will conduct the vote at a meeting of the faculty
scheduled for:
Thursday, February 22, at 3:30 p.m. in MSCS 514
If you wish to turn in a proxy vote beforehand, use the paper ballot
that will be placed in your mailbox. Please turn the ballot in to Mary
Johnston (or Angie, if Mary is not here) so she can check off your name
as having voted. (Don't just drop your ballot in the box.) Your ballot
should be turned in by 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 22.
At the meeting we will conduct the actual vote, or we will report the
results if enough ballots are obtained beforehand. Then the Head Search
Committee will answer questions about the search.
Please note that this vote is concerned with approval of the list of
finalists. If that list is approved, then we will schedule an interview
for our single finalist, Chris Francisco. The vote on his candidacy
will take place after his official interview and presentation to the
faculty.
