Hi everyone-

Many of you received an email from the VPR  Kenneth Sewell yesterday about the Alan Alda Communicating Science workshop in January.  The workshop is intended for for faculty within the sciences (broadly defined) to learn techniques to communicate their research to general audiences.

I was waiting to contact heads/faculty until I knew our allotment from the VPR’s office.  We have been given 7 slots. As such, this will be a competitive process. If you already sent this to faculty, that is fine. If you send any follow-ups, please let faculty know that we need a commitment of their interest to attend by September 15th. They need to confirm they can attend both days.  And, they need to send to be a statement on how this opportunity will advance their research agenda.

For those faculty who have already contacted me, I will contact them directly to request this info.

Also, if you have a faculty member in mind for this and want to send me an name, I can solicit the materials from them directly as well.
