Before leaving for Baltimore, I wanted to give a brief account of the status of our recruitment.

Mike Orhetman and family will be joining us late this summer. Again I want to thank all of you for the great support during our hosting of Mike and Karen Keene. We plan 6-8 visits for our two assistant professor positions. This will be demanding on all of us, however, your support will be very important to our success and very, very appreciated.

We have 4 visits scheduled:

January 23 - 25. P. Eddie Herman, Number Theory

January 27 - 29. Ben Harris, Topological and Lie Groups

January 29 - February 1, Zajj Daugherty. Associative Rings and Algebras

February 2 - February 6. Erik Lundberg, Analysis

Please mark these dates on your calendars. We will be asking for help in hosting these candidates and we will need broad support.

I am meeting with three other folks in Baltimore and we will decide about inviting them to visit. Paul Fili will also be invited to interview.
