Dear colleagues,
Below is some information about Simons grant proposals. I strongly encourage you to apply if you don't have other external funding. These grant proposals are very easy to write compared to NSF proposals and don't require nearly the investment of time and effort. I have samples of successful proposals I can share, and we have several people who would be willing to give feedback if you want to others to look at a draft.
Best wishes, Chris

Funding Opportunity: Simons Foundation Collaboration Grants for Mathematicians
The Simons Foundation’s Mathematics and Physical Sciences division invites applications for Collaboration Grants for Mathematicians to stimulate collaboration in the field primarily through the funding of travel and related expenditures. The goal of the program is to substantially increase collaborative contacts between accomplished, active mathematicians in the United States, who do not otherwise have access to funding that allows support for travel and visitors.
The deadline for the next round of proposals to the Simons Foundation Collaboration Grants for Mathematicians Program is January 30, 2020. Please let me know by Monday, January 13, 2020, if you plan to submit a Simons Foundation Collaborative Grant Proposal so we can put you on our calendar.
Here is a link to the funding opportunity:

Applications must be submitted through Proposal Central. All proposals must be fully routed.
Thank you!
Tory

Dear colleagues,
If you are going to apply for a Simons grant this month, please tell Tory Lightfoot right away so that she can get you on the CAS Research Office's calendar. This is a straightforward and fast grant application (especially compared to NSF), but the research staff still needs some time to do some paperwork. I highly encourage you to apply if you don't have other funding.
Best wishes, Chris
