Nel Abdiel will be visiting from the University of Iowa next week, arriving Tuesday evening, leaving Friday morning, and speaking in the seminar 3:30pm on Thursday. Title/abstract TBA.
Let me or Trent know if you'd like to go to lunch with us on Wednesday or Thursday, or meet with Nel etc.

Here are Nel's title and abstract:
The Localized Skein Algebra is Frobenius
When A in the Kauffman bracket skein relation is a primitive 2Nth root of unity, where N is an integer, odd and greater than or equal to three, the Kauffman bracket Skein algebra of a surface of finite type F, is a ring extension of the SL(2,C)-characters of the fundamental group of F. We construct the localized Skein algebra by inverting the nonzero characters, this localization is an algebra over the function field of the character variety. We prove that for F noncompact, the localized Skein algebra is a symmetric Frobenius algebra.
