Minutes for Meeting of the Graduate Committee October 28, 1997

Issues discussed:

• Review of Proposal for Creation and Scoring of Comprehensive Exams by Committee
  Several changes were discussed and a revised version will be considered at the next meeting.
• Procedures and Timing for Topics Courses
  Topics courses will be solicited for Fall of 1998 early in the Spring. A discrete math or graph theory course and a string theory course have been suggested. Because of the printing schedule courses that need to be listed in the Schedule of Classes must be planned almost one year in advance.
