O.H. Hamilton Fellowship

Dr. Olan H. Hamilton was a professor of mathematics at Oklahoma State University from 1938 to 1976. He was an artistic and inspirational teacher of mathematics. He was outstanding across the world as a research topologist. He was a beautiful person.

The intent of this award is to reflect the academic spirit of Professor Hamilton as a beginning graduate student. It may be given at most one time each academic year. The recipient's name is placed on the O.H. Hamilton Award plaque that is displayed in the mathematics department.

Requirements For The O.H. Hamilton Fellowship

  1. The Fellowship will be given to an OSU student beginning his/her Ph.D. work in mathematics.
  2. The student should have made an A in all topology courses taken and should have completed at least the first three credit hours in topology.
  3. The amount of the fellowship is determine at point of review.
  4. The student should have an outstanding graduate academic record.
