Dear Students,

I am writing to invite you to participate this year in the Putnam Exam, an all-day, nationwide collegiate math competition that takes place on December 1, the first Saturday in December, from 9:00 am - 12:00 noon and 2:00-5:00 pm. The math department will provide you with lunch. This competition is difficult, but the problems often catch your interest and draw you into trying to solve them. Dr. Wright created a handout with a few Putnam problems, attached. If you'd like to participate, we'd love to hear from you. Our registration is due shortly.

If a few students are interested, we can hold a few practice sessions a bit later in the term. Let me, Dr. Dosev, or Dr. Wright know. Also your friends from any other major (engineering, sciences, etc.) are invited.
